What is Foie Gras terrine?
Foie gras terrine is a classic French delicacy made from whole duck or goose liver. It is cooked in a terrine mold and lightly seasoned with salt, pepper and sugar and/or sometimes with black truffle or liquor.

How do you eat Foie Gras terrine?
Foie gras terrine is usually served cold/room temperature as an "amuse-bouche" (cocktail canapé) or as a 1st course with toasted bread or pain d'Epices (gingerbread). You can also pair it with a sweet or savory jam or chutney.

Serving Tips: to avoid a slice breakage while slicing, dip a sharp knife into a cup of hot water and repeat between each cut. That way the foie gras slice will not stick the knife blade or break.

Can I cook Dufour's Foie Gras terrine?
No, our terrine is already seasoned and ready to eat. If you wish to cook Foie Gras, then you will need to purchase raw liver from another supplier.

How does foie gras taste like?
Foie gras has a rich, buttery flavor and a creamy texture. It has a delicate, slightly sweet taste that melts in your mouth.

Is foie gras banned in the US?
No. Foie gras is not banned in the US, but it is illegal to produce it in California. Yet consumption is still allowed there if the residents purchase it from out of state.
